Grupo Falso Baiano will feature special guest Carlos Oliveira! Jazz at Peace is a direct descendant of the famous Jazz Vespers in New York City. This began when drummer Max Roach approached Rev John Gensel in 1962 and said, “We’re both doing a spiritual gig, but I can’t make it on Sunday mornings. What are you going to do about it?” The Jazz Church was born in NY and has transformed into an Interfaith Celebration called Jazz at Peace on the West Coast.
